What ailments do we treat?

Acupuncture is a complex medical system that is used to diagnose and treat illness, prevent disease and improve well being. It can focus on physical, psychological, emotional or spiritual problems. Since TCM promotes the body’s natural healing ability, many conditions can be treated. It is also a comprehensive system of preventative health care and maintenance. The effectiveness of acupuncture and TCM is well documented. The World Health Organisation recognises Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine as a viable means of treatment for a wide range of conditions.

Will acupuncture be covered by my Health Insurance?

As a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ireland (TCMCI) I am approved by most Insurance companies including VHI, Quinn Health Care, Hibernian Health (formerly Vivas) and the HSF for Out-Patient insurance purposes.

I also carry Professional Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Insurance cover.

How many treatments will I need?

Since each person is unique the number of treatments required may vary. Among the determining factors are the following:

  • The nature of the complaint – whether it is chronic or acute.
  • The general state of health and well being of the patient.
  • The frequency and type of TCM treatment administered may determine the likely outcome of therapy.
